Evergreen Giant Liriope is probably the most frequently specified groundcover in South Florida. The dark green gracefully arching leaves grow in sun or shade. This permits this plant to unify a landscape composition. It maintains a clean line and does not spread beyond where it was originally planted. It is easy to maintain and reaches a typical height of 2'.
Plant in well drained irrigated landscapes in sun or shade. Be careful to make sure that the Liriope you buy is Evergreen Giant Liriope. Other older cultivars of Liriope do not perform as well as this variety and are often sold either without distinction or sometimes in place of Evergreen Giant. These varieties of Liriope are lower and not as vigorous. They account for most of the failures of Liriope and should not be sold in South Florida.
