Bamboo Palm is a much used and highly versatile plant. Its use ranges from a specimen to tall hedge or screen. The tropical foliage and striking bamboo-like trunks can be used creatively for multiple purposes.
This palm grows in full sun to the dense shade of screened patios or porches. It's often used as a house plant, but give it higher levels of light in that situation. Young palms (less than 3 gallon size)in full sun and those in high pH soils develop yellow leaves. Older leaves on plants of any age become yellow. Bamboo Palm should not be used too close to the ocean.
Be sure to use a fertilizer specifically formulated for palms. For best growth fertilize 3-4 times per year.
