5' - 6' height, 25 gallon pot - Syagrus schizophylla
Arikury Palm is a small palm native to the forests of eastern Brazil. The feather leaves and the woven basket pattern of its trunk combined with its small size up to about 12' - 15' make this palm an excellent selection for detail areas and pedestrian scale.
Arikury Palm may be grown south of Lake Okeechobee and further north along the coast, but well back from salt air. This palm does best in partial shade similar to the forest environment of its native Brazil, but may be grown in full sun or partial shade in acid to neutral soils. It is moderately drought tolerant when established, but for best results grow it in irrigated, well drained, regularly fertilized, and well maintained landscapes. It is related to Queen Palm and should be fertilized in a similar manner 3 - 4 times per year.
Delivery is free in Broward, Dade, and southern Palm Beach counties.
