Solitaire Palm is a small palm that grows to about 20' in height. The beauty of its architecture can be especially appreciated when planted in groups of three of varying heights. The slender trunk of the Solitaire Palm supports a canopy of precisely arranged and stiffly arching fronds. Although the palm is single trunked, it is often planted three to a pot to create multiple specimens. When grown in this manner the slender trunks create graceful curves. The sculptural form of such specimens is much appreciated as a tall accent in landscapes of varying scales.
Solitaire palms may be planted in sun or shade, but their leaves are larger and deeper green in shade. Plant them in a wide range of well-drained soils in irrigated landscapes south of Lake Okeechobee. Make sure they are regularly fertilized with palm fertilizer especially when planted in full sun.
