Foxtail Palm resembles a miniature Royal Palm, which accounts for their great popularity with homeowners. Like the Royal Palm, the trunk is a smooth gray column, however, the dark colored banding on the trunk adds additional attraction. The green crownshaft is similar to the Royal, but the feather leaves are fuller having a “foxtail” appearance. Foxtail Palms grow to about 30’ in cultivation or about the size of a Queen Palm; a palm to which they are superior in appearance and performance.
Foxtails grow in a wide range of soil types including alkaline soils with only regular fertilization. They will grow relatively fast in an irrigated and regularly fertilized landscape. Foxtails can be grown anywhere in South Florida south of Lake Okeechobee.
Delivery is free in Broward, Dade, and southern Palm Beach Counties.
