Tricolor Dracaena is a much used and loved upper level accent in massed plantings. Its form is roughly palm-like, but the form may be shaped by pruning to create a variety of sculptural shapes. The thin woody stems support a canopy of multi-colored strap-like leaves. The leaves are green and white with reddish margins that appear to hold the light creating a glowing luminescent halo around the bold palm-like form of the plant.
Dracaena grows in sun or shade on a wide range of soils in irrigated landscapes south of Palm Beach County and further north near the coast.
