This tough small leafed native plant is best known for its dwarf varieties. These compact slow growing varieties make excellent low level to mid level plants. Their tolerance of alkaline soils and their rugged texture make them an excellent plant near masonry or stone.
Yaupon Holly grows well in a wide range of soils in full sun or shade from the coast up to inland swamps in nearly all of Florida. It grows well in irrigated landscapes, but is also very drought tolerant.
