Majesty Palm is now a very popular palm amongst home owners and is frequently sold in garden centers. It resembles a small thick-trunked Coconut Palm. Majesty Palm has a graceful tropical form, but is relatively cold hardy.
Majesty Palm can be grown anywhere in Florida south of Lake Okeechobee in fertile, well-drained, regularly irrigated landscapes on acid to slightly alkaline soils. So far this palm has not become as popular in commercial landscapes as it has in single family residential landscapes. This is probably due to the greater level of care, fertilization and irrigation that is required for the best appearance of these palms.
