Pigeon Plum is one of our most desirable southern Florida native trees. The dense evergreen dark green foliage makes a compact upright crown when immature that spreads with age.
Pigeon Plum can grow at a moderate rate in fertile irrigated landscapes. It has nearly the salt tolerance of its close relative, Seagrape. It can be grown in Broward and Dade Counties and into Palm Beach County close to the warming ocean.
Pigeon Plum produces fruit for about a two-month period that some people find objectionable, however, we should continue to look for opportunities to plant this desirable native tree.
Delivery is free in Broward, Dade, and southern Palm Beach Counties.
