1 gallon pot - Cuphea hyssopifola
Mexican Heather or False Heather grows to a maximum of 24" and usually less. Its small delicate leaves and flowers densely cover its thin woody stems. For low level plantings at pedestrian or residential scale False heather is a popular choice. The nearly year round flowers add a dash of color wherever their planted.
False Heather can be grown in fertile, irrigated, well mulched landscapes nearly andywhere in Florida except near the ocean. It grows in full sun and partial shade. Pinch the tips after planting in order to encourage dense compact growth. A yearly pruning also causes the plant to have its best form.
