15 gallon pot, 4'- 6' height - Phoenix roebelenii
Weight: 10.0 lbs
The name, Pygmy Date Palm, does not do justice to this lovely small palm that resembles a tiny Coconut Palm more than it does its relatives, the Date Palms. It is an exquisitely beautiful single-trunked palm that is often planted as a double or triple by planting more than one individual in the same pot. It has a thin curving trunk and a dense rounded crown of 50 silky-soft feather-like fronds. Pygmy Date is excellent as a small patio tree or along a walkway where its elegance of form and detail can be appreciated up close. It is also much used as an upper level accent in mass plantings.
Pygmy Date Palm may be grown anywhere south of Lake Okeechobee and along the coast up to Cape Canaveral. Grow it in sun or shade in well drained, fertile, irrigated landscapes. Near the Coast grow it in areas where it is somewhat protected from the salt air.
Delivery is free in Broward, Dade, and southern Palm Beach counties.
