Lipstick Palm derives its name from the shockingly beautiful red to red-orange crownshaft which graces the slender white ringed trunk and gives rise to the gracefully arched feather like leaves. The color of the crownshaft spills over into the rachis (stem) of the leaf. The flowers and fruit would be worthy of note on any other plant, but despite their beauty can add little to an otherwise exquisite palm.
This palm is increasingly popular as an indoor specimen. Outdoors it should be planted only in protected locations near the building in zones 10b and 11. Plant it in well drained, fertile, irrigated landscapes in partial shade.
Delivery is free in Broward, Miami-Dade, and southern Palm Beach Counties.
